ReConnect! with Yourself, Others and Humanity
People are becoming increasingly alienated from themselves and from others. The feeling of loneliness is growing and is already noticeable at a young age. The aftermath of the global COVID 19 pandemic and social media are not only contributing to polarization and the breakdown of social cohesion but also to stress related illnesses and mental vulnerability.
Our goal is to reconnect people with one another, first with themselves, then with others and with humanity as a whole. We envision a world in which care and love form the foundation of our global society and in which people once again enter into authentic and deep connection with each other and experience lived humanity.
The upcoming ReConnect! courses
Our offering: ReConnect! Dyads Programs
ReConnect offers various scientifically grounded mental training programs that run over several weeks, are guided by trained teachers in weekly sessions and are based on daily fifteen minute partner exercises known as ReConnect dyads. These partner exercises have been shown to enhance social abilities such as empathy, compassion and perspective taking as well as resilience and mental health. They reduce stress and loneliness and strengthen tolerance, social cohesion and a sense of togetherness.
Through our various formats such as ReConnect Masterclasses, Journeys and online courses for individuals or companies, we create evidence based programs for inner growth, connection and mental health. Our ReConnect community enables lasting impact through continued daily practice after a course and the development of social networks, and our train the trainer program allows global scaling of our programs based on the highest quality of dyad teachers.
Based on more than 25 years of research
by Prof. Dr. Tania Singer
The ReConnect programs were developed by Prof. Dr. Tania Singer and have been studied and tested by her over several decades within the framework of various scientific projects.
Prof. Dr. Tania Singer is a social neuroscientist and psychologist as well as a globally recognized expert in empathy and compassion. She is currently the scientific director of the Social Neuroscience Lab of the Max‒Planck‒Society in Berlin. Inspired by contemplative traditions from the East, she initiated and led one of the largest secular mental training studies in the world on training the social brain, the ReSource‒Project. This nine month unique study demonstrated significant positive effects of daily mental training on brain plasticity, mental health and resilience as well as social behavior and competencies. The results were published in 60 publications.
91% of participants would recommend the Journey to friends or others.
Due to high demand, Prof. Singer adapted the program in a secondary professional role for societal use and developed the ReConnect Masterclass as well as the ReConnect Journeys for individuals and companies from 2020 to 2025, along with the ReConnect Community and, after founding the ReConnect Academy, a train the trainer program to enable the scaling of these evidence based programs across different areas of society.
Prof. Dr. Tania Singer has been running the various ReConnect programs for years together with different partners as part of her secondary roles approved by the Max Planck Society.
During the COVID 19 pandemic, Prof. Singer developed a low threshold ten day online training within the CovSocial‒Project based on these findings. It is built on daily thirteen minute dyads and weekly online coaching sessions and was compared with the effects of classical mindfulness training programs. Since the dyad program in particular showed numerous positive effects, she further adapted it in another research project, the EduSocial‒Projekt, for use in schools and healthcare.
